Radio Design are proud to announce the launch of the SmartSite Solutions™: FTTA system – a fully connectorised plug-and-play Fibre to the Antenna deployment solution. This solution was conceived of – and designed with – an in depth understanding of the issues faced onsite by prime contractors and rigging teams. Our fully connectorised system uses a novel bulkhead design which provides a simple, easy-to-use, and effective system, which retains all the best deployment characteristics of a non-connectorised system and marries them with all the advantages of a connectorised system.

Radio Design’s SmartSite Solutions™ FTTA system uses a novel bulkhead design which facilitates standardised, repeatable and fast FTTA system deployments without the need for electrically qualified or DC competent personnel and with Health & Safety at the heart of the design. The divorcing of trunks, cable fan-outs, pendants and jumpers from one another, makes the system highly flexible, easily deployable and easy to repair if a particular system component became damaged. This approach to trunk connectorisation brings together the benefits of the connectorised cable fan-out approach for DC systems, the connectorised pendant approach for fibre systems and the ease of trunk routing benefits of the unconnectorised BoB approach.
The system comprises of three different brackets, several Fibre Hydra boxes – available as both single and multimode solutions – and two DC Hydras. Both the dual and double bracket will support up to a maximum of eight RRHs, and the single bracket supports up to six RRHs. Only one tool is required for the entire installation.

Since there are no enclosures that require access during installation, there is no risk of damaging enclosures or internal components - Ease of upgrade
To upgrade the system, additional components are simply added with no need to disturb the installed system, and no requirement for electrically qualified personnel - Speed of installation
Once on the structure, an RD bulkhead can be fully connected in a matter of minutes
