To fully realise the potential of wideband software defined radios (SDR) it is vital that they have robust (potentially high power), frequency agile RF and microwave front ends. Traditionally, a limiting factor of SDRs has been the RF front end which has often been limited to a small set of operating frequencies or – in order to achieve greater frequency agility – have been severely limited in output powers as well as being extremely vulnerable to relatively high power blocking / jamming signals.
Radio Design seek to unlock the full flexibility of SDRs by supporting higher power and providing enhanced protection from jammers. Furthermore, this capability can be provided in a modular, SOSA aligned / open VPX format allowing for the design of configurable and upgradable systems.
