Eric Hawthorn
Eric Hawthorn is the Executive Chairman, and founder, of Radio Design. Having graduated in 1984 with a BSc (Hons) 1st class in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, he is also a Fellow of the IET (FIET) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Eric‘s background covers over 25 years in mobile communications systems, having worked in the UK, USA and Canada with companies such as Plessey, Bell Northern Research (Nortel Networks), M/A-Com, Filtronic and of course Radio Design since its inception. Having led the company through dramatic early growth, Eric is now driving the strategy behind the next phase of Radio Design’s global expansion.
Martin Gostling
Martin has been at Radio Design from its inception in 2007 and now holds the position of Managing Director. Previously, he had responsibility for the company‘s technical strategy, regularly advising operators on network sharing options and cell site optimisation whilst overseeing the company’s product and patent portfolios. Martin received a First Class MA in Mathematics and a Masters of Mathematics from Cambridge University followed by a PhD from Leeds University. He subsequently moved to Filtronic where he worked as a System Engineer on base station RF modules before joining Radio Design.
Paul Trigg
Paul is a member of Radio Design’s original start up team. Initially bringing his years of project management experience in the telecoms industry to the role of Programmes Director, he is now responsible for the Global Operational activities. Having graduated from Leeds University in Chemistry, Paul went via a Process Engineering route into Project Management in the RF Filter industry. A great proponent of teamwork from his years as a rugby prop forward, he is using this asset to engender a global approach to product development and manufacturing activities. Paul leads the quality and environmental aspects at Radio Design and was instrumental in securing the ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations.
Anthony Chadwick
Anthony has over 25 years of sales experience within the telecommunications industry. He has successfully driven revenue growth for leading wireless telecommunications providers within both the OEM and network operator segments. His career includes senior sales leadership positions with Filtronic Comtek and Powerwave Technologies. He has extensive experience in both the developed and emerging markets and has successfully established direct and indirect sales channels within these regions.
Steve Shaw
Steve has been with Radio Design since 2014 and now holds the position of Global Engineering Director. He brings to the role over 20 years’ experience in mobile communication engineering, including management positions with Filtronic and Nokia. His technical experience includes microwave filters, power amplifiers and base station radios, in a range of roles from software to system engineering. Steve graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1991 with a BEng(Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a MSc(Eng) in Telecommunication Systems and is also a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Steve leads the engineering activities of the company including new product development and portfolio management, as well as research and technology development.
Gaurav Chauhan
Gaurav Chauhan is the Managing Director of Radio Design India & APAC who has been leading the Establishment and Operations in India since 2008. He graduated in Electronics and Communications Engineering (B.E) 1st Class with Distinction. Having worked with companies such as Reliance, Powerwave Technologies and currently heading Radio Design India since its inception, Gaurav has an experience of 21 years in the telecommunications industry. He oversees the company’s financial performance and is proficient in making key strategic decisions on Sales, Technologies, Production and Investments. With a strong hold over liasoning with the Government and various Regulatory bodies, he is spearheading Radio Design’s growth in the Asian continent.
